Anti-Obama Kiosk Owner Kicked Out of Concord Mills Mall!

Published by scottystarnes at 5:39 am under Political Articles Edit This

Concord Mills MallMy little hometown of Concord, North Carolina is back in the national spotlight. Usually it is due to some type of NASCAR event being held in May and October. However, this is not the case.

Concord, North Carolina is in the spotlight due to politics. Concord Mills Mall is located in Concord, and is the state’s number one tourist destination. So, how does the mall and politics become a news story?

Loren Spivack owns a kiosk, inside Concord Mills Mall, called the “Free Market Warrior.” He sells items that are anti-Obama and some mall visitors took offense and complained to the Simon Property Group who owns the mall. Some of the visitors wrote letters condemning the kiosk and claimed the items being sold were racist and bigoted.

So, what does Simon Property Group decide? Oh, they just will “allow” the lease to expire on July 31, 2009 without an option to renew. Mr. Spivack released email correspondence that detail mall management’s claim that the items being sold are not “neutral enough.”

All of this come about because some liberal Obama lovers became upset that someone was selling items that they felt were racist and bigoted. Cry me a f*cking river. Its called free speech idiots.

Free speech is a right liberals believe only belongs to them. If they do not like it, they tend to get all emotional and try to label it as offensive with the rants of racism and bigotry. However, the Obama supporter who wrote the letter did not take offense to other stores inside that contained much more vulgar and offensive statements and images. Its a liberal double standard.

Another interesting fact is about the mall’s owner, Simon Property Group. It’s owner is Mel Simon, who just happens to be a billionaire and huge donor to the Democratic party…and President Obama. The Simon Property Group also owns a mall in Gwinnett County, Georgia that canceled a T.E.A Party event during the 4th of July.

It is frightening when certain groups believe free speech is only their right. If you do not like what a store or kiosk is selling…guess what? Do not shop or spend your money there.

It is only because Mr. Spivack sold items from the conservative point of view that this issue was raised. Just because the store sold anti-Obama items does not mean the items are racist or bigoted. This is America where we have a right to speak our minds and show disapproval of someone’s policies.

I honestly avoid Concord Mills Mall because of the traffic congestion. By restricting someone’s free speech rights, I hope others will avoid Concord Mills Mall and other properties owned by Simon Property Group. Maybe those concerned by this act should mail the mall a copy of the U.S. Constitution and highlight the Bill of Rights.
