A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words…

Published by scottystarnes at 6:09 pm under Political Articles Edit This

Beer SummitWhat does this picture show? President Obama is walking ahead of his disabled “friend” as the respectable Sgt. James Crowley, helps Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. down the steps. Is this Obama’s plan? To leave the disabled and elderly behind?

This photo is from the official White House blog site. I’m sure they did not think much into posting such a picture. However, it does show another side of President Obama.

This picture can mean something for one person and mean something different for another. I believe it can be used to demonstrate how Obama feels about our elderly. Just recently, during a speech to sell his health care reform bill, Obama made his feelings known.

During the speech, Diane Sawyer took a question from Jane Sturm. Mrs. Sturm was concerned about the government setting limits on aggressive elder care. She went on to tell President Obama a story about her mother.

Her mother was 100 years old, at the time, and wanted a pacemaker. One doctor said she (the mother) was too old to receive such treatment even though she showed a good joy of life. So, her main care physician sent her to another doctor (for tests) and eventually determined she was a good candidate for the pacemaker.

Oh, I forgot to mention this…most of her mother’s treatments were paid for by MEDICARE. You see it right? Health care rationing!

One doctor (paid by Medicare fees set by…the government) said she isn’t a worthy candidate, while her primary care physician found her worthy. How did President Obama answer the question about prolonging life for the elderly?

“We are not going to be able to solve every difficult problem in terms of end of life care,” Obama said. He continued by saying “maybe this isn’t going to help…maybe you’re better off not having the surgery… ah…but taking the pain killer.”

So again, all of you who support ObamaCare, which Obama admits will be rationed health care, go for it. Take advantage of a system that will be modeled after Medicare. Just pay for it yourself instead of insisting on others to pay for it.

So, as you clearly see…a picture is worth a thousand words. Obama’s action in that picture shows his true feelings for the elderly. Maybe that pill option will be better for Professor Gates when and if he decides to have his hip replaced later in life.

A picture may be worth a thousand words but actions are worth more!
