Former Homeland Security Secretary “Pressured” to Raise Threat Level
Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge is releasing a tell-all book. In the book, Ridge accuses the Bush administration of pressuring him to raise the terror threat level during Bush’s re-election campaign. The book is titled “The Test of Our Times: America Under Siege…and How We Can Be Safe Again,” and is sure to be a best seller.
Ridge claims the memoir is “intended to rouse Americans from their complacency about security issues.” The former Homeland Security Secretary admits that he considered resigning after being pressured to raise the threat level for political reasons. The book will reveal some stunning allegations about his time inside the Bush administration.
One of Tom Ridge’s claims is that he was never invited to sit in on National Security Council meetings. I find Ridge to be a very honest and trustworthy person. He was confirmed with a 94 - 0 vote, so what he claims should be taken with great concern.
I was never a fan of the Bush administration and when things like this come to light, it just makes you even more distrusting of our elected leaders. I just wish those that witness this corruption would speak out sooner, instead of continuing to accept those nice government checks paid for by the American taxpayer. Keeping your mouth shut does not benefit the U.S. citizens in any way whatsoever.
Thanks Tom for speaking up after the fact. Good looking out for the people who paid your salary for those years of service under the Bush administration. Guess its better late than never huh? Now go out and sell that book so you can make more money off the secrets you yourself kept. Only in America!

It is pretty disturbing, but not that surprising. I have to admit I kind of even suspected it myself when the administration did it. Fear tactics were a common tool of the Bush administration.
LoL and how nice of Ridge to speak up about it now rather than when he could have done something to change it right? Oi vey…
Good read Scotty
