Where are the Cries of Separation of Church and State?

Published by scottystarnes at 9:21 pm under Political Articles Edit This

obama-praying.jpgWhere are the cries from the left about separation of Church and State at now? President Obama is lobbying Church leadersto promote his health care plan. On Wednesday, the President made a conference call to an estimated 140,000 members of churches and religiou groups across the country.

Obama informed them that he wanted the to “spread the facts and speak the truth” about his health care/health insurance reform. He invoked that those who oppose it are breaking one of the 10 commandments and bearing “false witness.”

Obama: “I know there’s been a lot of misinformation in this debate, and there are some folks out there who are, frankly, bearing false witness. These are all fabrications that have been put out there in order to discourage people from meeting what I consider to be a core ethical and moral obligation, and that is that we look out for one another, that “I am my brother’s keeper” and my sister’s keeper, and in the wealthiest nation on earth right now we are neglecting to live up to that call.

I need you to spread the facts and speak the truth.” Uhh…umm…I believe that is what you should be attempting to do Mr. President. Your poll numbers are dropping like Barney Frank’s jowls due to the facts that you can’t explain your plan to the America public!

Just a few years ago, I recall a democratic campaign to snitch on churches to the IRS who violated their tax exempt status by preaching politics to their congregations. How is this different from having a President tell church and religious groups to go out and campaign on his behalf?

Since I am discussing the religious aspects of our President, did anybody else find it a bit suspicious that Obama tried to distance himself from the National Day of Prayer service at the White House but did not hesitate to issue a message to the Muslims in celebration of Ramadan? More appeasement to the Islamic faith and its Muslim followers? Just saying?

I wondered the very same thing Scotty…funny, two men in Florida will stand trial for praying over their meal, and yet Obama has the audacity to use the Christian faith to try and guilt Christians into supporting his health care/insurance reform bill, which still isn’t “died-in-the-wool” because there are no less than 5-plans being presented in congress, and 1- in the House of Representatives.

Where is the transparency? I think, in 4-years when Webster’s does it’s latest addition, the word “Transparency” will have the definition: Black hole.
