Democrats Lock Out Republicans…Again!
Not only are the Democrats locking Republicans and the American public out on the health care debate, now they are locking Republicans out of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee room. It is being done to keep them from meeting when Democrats aren’t present. Do you see the hypocrisy?
Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) decided to lock the doors after repeated harassment by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) over Town’s refusal to open investigations into Countrywide Mortgage’s sweetheart deals to VIPs. The reason for the refusal is because several Democrats have profited from these sweetheart deals. Two such Democrats are Senators Chris Dodd of Connecticut and Kent Conrad of North Dakota.
Issa and the Republicans wanted to force an open vote to subpoena records from Countrywide about these sweetheart deals. The meeting was abruptly canceled and only Republicans showed up while the Democrats chairs were empty. What do they have to hide?

“The origins of the financial crisis lie in the collapse of the housing market – a collapse that was spurred on by reckless and irresponsible lending policies at companies such as Fannie Mae and Countrywide,” said Rep. Issa. “The benefits and strategy behind the Countrywide VIP program were reminiscent of the benefits Jack Abramoff bestowed on individuals with political influence. This Committee, on a bipartisan basis, conducted a targeted investigation into the Jack Abramoff scandal. It needs to investigate Countrywide’s efforts to buy influence.”Added Issa, “Democrats may have skated out of today’s vote, but they can rest assured that Republicans will again demand a vote to hold Countrywide accountable.”
Something is fishy with these Democrats and their sweetheart deals. It was discovered that Countrywide Financial Corp. had recorded phone conversation with borrowers in this scam and it included public officials. Low and behold, these recordings have been destroyed. How convenient for these Democrats.
So now we have two sets of Democrats locking out the opposition party. One is behind closed doors secretly hashing out the biggest spending bill in U.S. history in the name of health care and the other is trying to stop an investigation into corrupt Democrats.
Thank Obama and his Democrooks for having the most transparent administration in history. It’s just hard to see the transparency when the heavy door is closed to keep us out. Only those guilty have something to hide and these libtards are locking the truth behind closed doors.
I agree there should be no closed door policy anywhere within American Government.
